OBESSU Board meeting in Oslo PDF Print E-mail

The Board of OBESSU is having a meeting from 13th-16th July in Oslo, Norway. This is the first meeting of the “renewed” Board with new members Emma and Kristin being welcomed onboard. The meeting is hosted by OBESSU member organisation from Norway – EON/SSUN (School Student Union of Norway). This way the Board has the opportunity to meet members of EON as well as Operation Dayswork.
EON hosts have made their effort for the Board members and Secretary General of OBESSU to work in a pleasant atmosphere of their office, as well as to visit sites of Oslo and enjoy a traditional Norwegian evening.

Youth Organisations Outraged at Discriminatory Law in Lithuania PDF Print E-mail

On the 14th July 2009, the Law on the Protection of Minors against Detrimental Effect of Public Information has been adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania (XIP-110). This law presents public information that ‘agitates’ for homosexual or bisexual relations as detrimental to the development of minors, and as defying family values. Therefore, Youth Organisations wrote a letter to the Parliament and the President of Lithuania.

UNSS strongly lobbies for changes in the Law on Education PDF Print E-mail

UNSS is putting forward its demands for changes in the Law on Education to the Ministry of Education of Serbia.
Ministry of education is currently working on changing the Law on Education that is to be voted in the Parliament in autumn. Although the Ministry hasn't initially invited UNSS nor any other NGO to give their contribution to this working process, UNSS made its efforts to arrange several meetings with the Ministry of Education in order to put forward the requests of students for the changes in the Law that will insure stronger students' participation in and students' rights in school.
